Thank you to ALL who followed our parking lot safety guidelines at dismissal. Today was MUCH better! Please keep in mind that you will be asked to move if your car is not parked in a designated parking spot. Also our parking lot is a one way. If you are parked near the entrance/exit or on the grass, please follow the flow of traffic AROUND the lot.
Again THANK YOU for keeping our students SAFE!

IMPORTANT info regarding the parking lot at dismissal
We all want students safe at Holliman throughout the school day and during dismissal. Please follow these guidelines for our parking lot at dismissal;
The parking lot is ONE WAY (I have requested newly painted lines & signs).
Park in DESIGNATED PARKING SPOTS ONLY (along the grassy area is permitted & I have requested newly painted parking spot lines).
DO NOT block the entrance/exit. Cars MUST be able to safely enter and exit.
DO NOT block the flow of traffic. This is a huge safety concern.
Keep your child with you while in the parking lot.
Arrive early or consider parking on the street in the neighborhood to avoid congestion.
I will consider closing off the parking lot to incoming vehicles once it is at capacity if these safety issues persist.
Thank you for keeping our students SAFE!

Good Afternoon Holliman Families,
In accordance with state law (§16-21-4, §16-21-5) all schools (public and private) in Rhode Island, are required to perform 15 emergency drills that include fire and lockdown drills. Today we had our very first fire drill. The students did a GREAT job exiting and returning to the building quickly and quietly.
As a reminder there is no school on Monday, 9/7 for Labor Day and Wednesday 9/9 for Primary Day.

Good morning Holliman Families
Our drop loop routine went really good yesterday despite just some minor hiccups with a bus in the wrong place and of course the rain. Each day it will go more quickly. Please avoid the parking lot. The parking lot is not a drop and go.
Please review bus expectations with your child. Students are to remain seated and inappropriate language and behavior are not at all tolerated.

Today begins our normal morning arrival drop off routine. Please avoid entering the parking lot via Deborah Rd.
Enter the drop off loop via Mullen Road (ignore the do not enter sign).
Pull all the way up to the drop off sign.
Have your child exit your vehicle via the passenger side.
There will be plenty of teachers & staff to assist. And there is plenty of room to go around other cars once your child exits your vehicle.
Please DO NOT follow buses into the parking lot. The parking lot is a bus only zone during morning arrival.
If you enter the bus zone, you will be asked to move your car to the drop off loop.

We had a very smooth first day of school - only 1-2 minor hiccups at dismissal. Some buses were delayed in arriving at some bus stops, however once the drivers and monitors get to know the students better, I'm sure they will arrive at your child's bus stop on time.
Please continue to communicate your child's dismissal plans with your child's teacher and/or the main office via email. Miss Ann's email is ann.palumbo@warwickschools.org.

Families are not permitted to enter the building to walk their child to class. There are plenty of members of our faculty and staff who can support students. We will also have our superintendent, director of elementary and other directors visiting Holiman today.
